LOGINventory5.1: Faster data capturing in large network scenarios, many detail improvements

New network scan module with unprecedented performance

Munich, Germany – April 8th, 2010 – Windows network inventory software vendor Schmidt’s LOGIN today announced the availability of LOGINventory5.1. The new version provides a completely rewritten network scan module helping IT experts to get all of the information from the network’s IT assets faster than ever before. Moreover, many small improvements have been made, known bugs were fixed, and with its multi-language pack LOGINventory5 now supports both English and German. The update within the main version 5 is free.

Designed for the challenges of modern IT landscapes, LOGINventory supports administrators to comprehensively audit their hardware and software assets. Version 5.1 was optimized with special regards to today’s typical network scenarios in dispersed multi-site environments with all their advanced routing processes between subnets. Developed for v5.1, the innovative network scan engine’s underlying technology provides a highly accelerated capturing of information from both IP-capable machines and SNMP-based devices. Its significantly increased performance becomes clearly visible in large environments and wide area networks (WAN) where data now is gathered even faster while simultaneously reducing the network load.

Another innovation for enterprise-class corporations and SMBs with distributed environments is the Domain node displaying a clearly laid out view of the entire network within the LOGINventory Management Console.

Different licensing, constant prices

Customers benefit from a simplified licensing model as computers and devices are now commonly treated as ‘assets’. Another user benefit is that deleted assets within the Recycle Bin or imperfectly scanned assets (the latter appear in the new Faulty Node) no longer consume a license. Customers needing additional licenses (caused by the modified license model) after the upgrade will be granted them at no extra cost. For this reason LOGIN provides a special wizard, figuring out exactly how many additional licenses a customer may claim in order to insert all assets in the database to obtain a comprehensive inventory.

Prices will remain identical. For all customers without valid Software Upgrade Subscription License (SUSL) the upgrade to v5 will be priced at 60% of the full version’s list price and includes 12 months of SUSL.
