An investment that really pays off: LOGINventory upgrade from v4 to v5
Version 5 of the popular network inventory software LOGINventory integrates many innovative features which make scanning and analyzing your IT network more comprehensive and more efficient. The new software license management, access control for selected users, hierarchical queries and command automation via interface to the Microsoft Windows PowerShell make LOGINventory5 an ideal tool for auditing today's network environments. LOGINventory5 comes with a simplified licensing model as the distinction between computers and devices was removed. Only successfully scanned assets need a license with LOGINventory5. Imperfectly scanned assets or deleted assets in the Recycle Bin no longer consume a license.
With v5 you might need more licenses after the upgrade than were required with LOGINventory 4. However, before you start thinking about a license extension in conjunction with an upgrade to v5, please use our Upgrade Advisor (requires LOGINventory 4.5.7). Should you be underlicensed after the upgrade and you discover a need of additional licenses, don't worry! The Upgrade Advisor exactly defines how many licenses you would require and automatically creates a voucher for more licenses which you will get from us for free.
If your organization would need more licenses with LOGINventory v4, a license extension is recommended anyway.
Pricing and licensing
- The price scales for LOGINventory5.x licenses remain the same as with v4.
- For all customers without valid Software Upgrade Subscription for LOGINventory (SUSL), the upgrade from v3.x/v4.x will be priced at 60% of the full version's list price – including 12 months of SUSL.
- If someone – caused by the new licensing model – needs additional licenses after the upgrade, it is not necessary to pay for these. We will provide the extra licenses for free!
- Only the number of existing LOGINventory 4 licenses is relevant for an upgrade.
- Those who order a license extension to the existing LOGINventory v4 installation, get a v5 license compatible with v4.

Software Upgrade Subscription for LOGINventory
SUSL allows the licensee to use all future LOGINventory versions and product add-ons which will be available within the subscription period.
The validity of the subscription period for SUSL will automatically be extended by another 12 months unless the User terminates the extension no later than six weeks prior to the date of expiration as stated in the Licensing Certificate. The termination of SUSL needs to be sent to LOGIN in a written form.
