Installation Problems (4.x)

For different reasons you may encounter unforeseen problems during the LOGINventory installation. Following you find an explanation of the various messages which indicate the potential cause for a failed installation.

Internal Error 2755.3 N:\LOGINventory.msi

This error occurs if you execute an MSI installation from a network share (e.g 'N:\Install.msi'). You can either use UNC syntax (e.g. '\\Server\share\install.exe') or install it from a local drive.

Installation ended prematurely because of an error

LOGINventory Webinterface is installed by the Microsoft Installer service, so the user 'System' must have read access to the install source directory for the installation to work.

Internal Error 2738

This message indicates a missing Windows Scripting Host (WSH). You can download the current WSH version here:

Multiple LOGINventory installations

If you use multiple installations, it is important to refresh all existing LOGINventory installations in case of an update! For execution within logon script, always the current version of LOGINfo.exe is required.
