Windows XP SP2 Firewall Configuration (4.x, 5.x)

If you are using Windows XP SP2 or SP3, you should configure the Windows Firewall:

• to ensure a maximum security level;
• to prevent useless limitations on administration.
  

• Ping (ICMP)
• Remote Registry based on File and Print Services
• WMI based on RPC (optional)
• SNMP (optional)

All these methods are suppressed by the default settings of the Windows Firewall.
