This enables a very fast and easy way to back up servers and other computers that must run 24 hours a day.

Easy Use and Restore of single files or directories

Drive Snapshot creates a virtual drive, containing all of your drive's data. You may use, compare, or restore these files directly from the Disk Image file.
This works with any program of your choice, including (of course) Windows Explorer.

Complete Restore of a disk in the event of a disaster

If a disk is restored to its original state, it will be exactly the same as at the time of Backup - byte for byte. Restoring a system partition will require DOS; other drives can be restored using Windows

Drive Snapshot uses Windows to access your disk drive. Therefore it is possible to backup and restore all of your Windows RAID drives (in DOS mode to a limited extent). Hardware RAID is fully supported.

Drive Snapshot Installation & Setup

Specifically in a corporate environment, where dozens or hundreds of computers must be backed up, the need to install software (and usually reboot it after installation) can be annoying. Drive Snapshot does not require any installation.

It's sufficient to download SNAPSHOT.EXE (ca. 250KByte) and start it.

If you prefer a ''normal'' installation, please download SETUP.EXE (about 1,9 MB). SETUP will copy Snapshot.exe into the \\Programs directory, create Start Menu entries, install Help files (currently this website), and install the necessary data to create a bootable FreeDOS recovery diskette.

A complete Drive Snapshot Setup requires about 2 MB free disk space.
Drive Snapshot/Setup will NOT copy anything into your Windows or system directory.
Drive Snapshot/Setup will NOT change anything in your system's configuration.
Everything necessary for Drive Snapshot's operation will be dynamically done and undone.
Drive Snapshot is intended to backup your computer in its present state, not to modify this state.
You need NOT exit other programs to install Drive Snapshot.
Just start it - and enjoy.

System Requirements:

Windows NT 4.0 SP3, Windows 2000, XP, 2003/8 Server, PE, Vista
2 MB disk space + space to save the disk images.
16 MB RAM when active, 0 MB when inactive.
You need administrative rights to execute Drive Snapshot

Test it

We invite you to test Drive Snapshot, before you actually buy the software.

Download a trial version of Drive Snapshot; check it at your leisure, and see if it can be useful to you and your company. This allows you to verify its functionality and then decide if you'd like to buy it. The trial version has a built-in time limit of approx. 30 days. After the expiration date it will stop backing up your systems.

If the integrated FreeDOS recovery diskette does not fit your needs please have a look at the 'Ultimate Boot CD for Windows', which is available here: www.ubcd4win.org. You must not include Snapshot.exe in this CD - it is OK to start it from your backup drive (USB disk or network).
