LOGINventory 4.5.7 released

Since the initial release of version 4.5, LOGINventory was enhanced and extended with many new features - now integrated in version 4.5.7. Our rock-solid hardware inventory and software inventory solution for Windows networks includes:

Drive Snapshot v1.39

Starting July 15th, 2008 the latest Drive Snapshot release is available: v1.39.

The following improvements have been made since the last release:

Supports Restore into Virtual Machines (VMWare/Virtual Server)
Mounted snapshots are writeable (data are buffered in RAM) - and you can make a new snapshot of this virtual disk
Ability to exclude files and folders has been enhanced ( --exclude:\*.MP3 )
Defective images can be repaired - within certain limits
Allows installation of additional (disk) drivers in WinPE/BartPE
Fixes/tolerates some bugs in Vista/2008 X64

LOGIN teams up with iET Solutions

Framingham, MA and Munich, Germany – August 18, 2008 – iET® Solutions, a leading provider of ITIL based IT Service Management (ITSM) software solutions and services, and Schmidt’s LOGIN, a developer of sophisticated software for network administrators, today announced a channel partner distribution agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, iET Solutions will sell and support LOGIN’s flagship product LOGINventory, a hardware and software discovery and network inventory tool for company networks of all sizes.

“IT administrators need to be able to quickly and accurately scan their network to determine if there were any changes to the environment. LOGINventory gives them complete control over what is happening in their network,” said Michael Scheib, president and CEO of iET Solutions. “LOGINventory has been very successful in Europe and we look forward to helping them increase their presence in North America.”

SBS 2008 Support and NDR Spam Filtering in IMF Tune v4.2

Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 support, NDR Spam Filtering and a new Installer are the advancements delivered by IMF Tune v4.2.

Now that SBS2008 reached final release, we made sure IMF Tune is also ready for this platform. Of course support for Exchange 2003 and SBS2003 is here to stay for many years. But at the same time we are making sure IMF Tune is ready for your next upgrade.

The increase in Non-Delivery Report (NDR) Spam and other types of backscatter prompted us to harden our filtering engine in this area. Indeed this is where most of the development work was focused. IMF Tune is now able to apply additional processing to these emails ensuring all available information is employed to identify Spam.
